Mary A. Osborne is the author of Alchemy’s Daughter and Nonna’s Book of Mysteries. Although these are stand-alone historicals, both novels feature excerpts from A Manual to the Science of Alchemy, which is a mystical alchemical text of the author’s imagination.  An enchanting blend of history, alchemy, adventure, and romance, Mary’s writing appeals to adults as well as teens.

An honors graduate of Rush University and Knox College, where she was mentored in the Creative Writing Program, Mary is a registered nurse and holds degrees in chemistry and nursing.   She lives in Chicago and enjoys exploring the local art scene, spending time with friends, and learning how to eat and live sustainably.

Alchemy’s Daughter won grand prize in the Paris Book Festival and the gold award in the Literary Classics Youth Media Competition for both young adult fiction and young adult historical fiction.  Nonna’s Book of Mysteries was a Foreword Reviews Book of the Year winner, an Eric Hoffer First Horizon winner, a nominee for the ALA Amelia Bloomer award and the IBPA Ben Fischer Award, and the winner of several festival awards.
